Workshop to present observations and new recommendations accepted by the government of rwanda

The workshop to present observations and new recommendations accepted by the government of Rwanda took place on 19 May 2020 at Kigali Marriott Hotel and Virtually. The workshop was a high stake meeting with 84 participants, 20 participants attended physically and 64 attended virtually from various national and international institutions, including the Minister of Justice and the UN Resident Coordinator. The Workshop was an opportunity for CSOs, line Ministries and other stakeholders to reflect on the new UPR recommendations accepted by the Rwandan Government. ........

Regional conference on Universal Periodic Review (UPR).


As the convener for the Rwanda Coalition of Civil Society Organizations on Universal,the Legal Aid Forum in collaboration with One UN Rwanda and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights of Rwanda (OHCHR),organized a Regional Conference on the Universal Periodic Review (UPR). The conference took place at Kigali Serena Hotel from 11-13th June 2019. The overall objective of this regional conference was to strengthen Human Rights Promotion and Protection in the region through the Universal Periodic Review mechanism. The conference brought together around 100 CSO members from Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, South Sudan, Democratic Rep of Congo and Somalia. Government representatives and UN agencies also attended the Regional Conference.
